Donation Processing at Thrift Store


Once your registration is processed, you will be contacted by our Volunteer Supervisor. He will schedule you for an orientation session with our Thrift Store staff. All Thrift Store volunteers must go through this orientation session before beginning to volunteer. Our staff will schedule you in the system during or after the orientation concerning your availability and our needs.

(The orientation session is approximately 40 minutes. Please do not response to any shift before the orientation. Our Thrift Store staff only schedule volunteer during or after orientation.)

SPECIFIC NOTES FOR THRIFT STORE

You may purchase merchandise once it has been processed and placed on the sales floor. If you make a purchase before you start working or while on a break, you must take it to your car or place it in the office with your name and the receipt stapled to it. A servant's heart, a good work ethic and a positive attitude. Able to do manual labor for at least one hour, work well with others, listen to instructions and carry out assigned tasks with minimum supervision. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or adult while serving.   Please refrain from using Air Pods while serving. 

Parking, Entrance, and Sign-in/out:

You may park in the lot in front of the store and enter through the front door.  Sign in/out using the 3-ring binder as well as clock in/out electronically in the laptop front desk (entry door).

Important Information: 

Attire: Please wear closed-toe shoes, long pants, and shirts with sleeves. Please dress modestly.  Photography and videography: You are more than welcome to take photos of our buildings and your volunteer group, but photographs/videos including guests and residents are not permitted. Cell phones: Please refrain from using your cell phone while volunteering as this can distract other volunteers and staff. If you need to use the phone, let the staff know and they will direct you to another area. Please do not wear earbuds or headphones during your volunteer time.  Personal belongings: Please leave belongings in a locked vehicle and out of sight. The Mission is not responsible for lost or stolen property.  Be Flexible: We ask that you come to your scheduled volunteer time with a patient heart and extend flexibility if your opportunity does not go as anticipated.
